Therapy Services
Children and Young people in our care may have encountered painful and traumatic experiences in the past which can impact negatively on their feelings, emotions and behaviour. Hence, young people are provided with different approaches of assessment and therapeutic services such as drama, music, art, play, counselling, CBT and systematic therapy so as to help them to conquer their emotional challenges.
We identify the needs of our young people through their risk assessments, daily living plans, Education and Health Plan which aids our understanding of their needs and appropriate interventions.
We are aware that young people’s needs are always changing hence, we ensure that their placement plans are updated every six months or as required.
We place emphasis on listening to and supporting young people in achieving their goals and realising their dreams and aspirations.
Our staff are caring and appropriate role models, who are experienced and well trained in offering a service, that guarantee important “outcomes” for young people through the application of choices, activities and consistent boundaries
We strongly believe and actively pursue that every child should be given the same opportunities hence, we ensure fairness in our approach.
We encourage young people to access their local and wider community and access vast and varied activities specifically developed for them.
We also develop tailored made independence programs to teach a variety of personal, social and independence skills that will allow young people to develop and become confident adults.
We use a combination of praise, reward and recognition with routines and boundaries to promote positive behaviour. Staff support the children to understand their behaviour and the rationale for set goals and boundaries.
