Health and Safety

Staff are trained in food hygiene and basic first aid. Equipment are checked at intervals for safety. Every effort is made to ensure the safety of young people and staff by identifying and eliminating any danger or hazard in or outside the home. These are logged by the staff and monitored by the Registered Manager.

Children and young person’s risk assessments are completed by considering the potential areas of risk. Appropriate actions are put in place to mitigate all risks and are reviewed regularly to ensure that they are still relevant and updated accordingly. The assessments  form part of a comprehensive approach to Health and safety  including daily, weekly, and monthly checks within the home and complemented by further audits by senior staff.

Success Home is fitted with mains smoke alarms. Staff are trained in the Fire Drill and the Evacuation Procedures for the home. Monthly drills are carried out, staff check equipment on a weekly basis. Portable appliance testing is carried out every twelve months.
